People dont want to think about stochastic differential equations, data generating functions, survivalship bias, lookahead bias, the issue of data scarcity, problems of non-stationarity, overfitting and underfitting, confusion matrices, probability distributions, variable selection, cross-correlation, multicollinearity, economic theory, macroeconomics, optimizing scale and location, etc etc.

People want to draw lines or look at lines and fall for pareidolia and apophenia, becaus…
I always tell people who are new that it is most likely that they will never make any money trading…

That's really a lot for 99% of the people... perhaps some can take advantage of AI (just like people took advantage of algorithmic trading 30 years ago).
The thing is... once these strategies become popular, they no longer work.
