Love your sharing, Alexandra! The way they paid writers before this new way was very simple - readers' reading time. Which I think to be honest is the best and the most fair. Readers spend more time on high quality content, as simple as that.
And as you said, many readers file good articles to read later, or reread again, in the new system this is not being rewarded.
And yes, agree on your point on longer content is now not so feasible money wise... and many topics that I write about is very hard to have short-form content unless I don't go in-depth... But that's not what I want to do either just to get the 30 sec reward. I like to write in-depth but that also takes a lot of time as you said. How to find the balance with this new way is the question...
