Most FIRE writers and FIRE calculators have into account you current monthly expenses and how much you would need to retire in order to keep the same level of expenses.
This often comes with numbers like "I need to have $1.5 million and work for 15 years more to retire."
However, if you can a) cut expenses by downsizing your lifestyle of moving to a cheaper country and b) while retiring, keep some income generating activity (for me it's Medium and Udemy), then you can retire whit significantly less and not be nervous about it. This will, of course, depend on your family situation, but the point is that most people need less than they think they need in order to retire.
