Totally agree.

Many years ago I was a trader (fx and derivatives). Lost all my money. Luckily I was a student so didn't have much anyway.

For trading, calculating risk/reward ratios and putting say SL 50 pips below and the TP 100 pips above makes sense from the risk management perspective.

The problem is... like you said, most people shouldn't trade. The majority lose money. Do they lose less money because they use stop losses? Well, probably they still lose it, but slower. That false sense of security....
