As a tech writer (crypto & AI side) here on Medium myself I feel the pain. We're on the same boat. Earnings dropped dramatically and the new way they pay writers (based on readers' "engagement") may benefit certain topics that trigger emotions but certainly not tech. Not sure if they even count reading time anymore (that doesn't even show up on the Stats page) as they claimed. Things feel untransparent, and our quality work felt not being appreciated. I'm afraid Medium is going to lose lots of quality writers.
